Kindle Unlimited Charge on Your Bank Statement

Kindle Unlimited is a subscription company. Kindle Unlimited is Amazon's ebook and audiobook subscription giving access to a large rotating library. A recurring charge is your monthly membership, billed by Amazon. It typically appears as Kindle Unltd, AMZN or AMAZON DIGITAL on your statement. It may appear on your bank statement under a shortened descriptor rather than its full name.

Kindle Unlimited is a well-known, legitimate company. Most charges from this merchant are authorised and relate to purchases or subscriptions you signed up for. If you don't recognise the charge, check your email for a receipt or log into your Kindle Unlimited account to review recent activity.

To cancel Kindle Unlimited, log in to your account on their website and navigate to your account or subscription settings. Alternatively, contact their customer support directly. Once cancelled, no further charges should be taken. If you have already been charged and wish to recover the money, contact your bank to raise a dispute.

If you do not recognise a charge from Kindle Unlimited, call the number on the back of your bank card or use your bank's mobile app to raise a dispute. Explain that you do not recognise the transaction and ask for a chargeback. Under Visa and Mastercard rules you typically have up to 120 days from the transaction date to raise a chargeback claim. For purchases over £100 paid by credit card, you may also have additional protection under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act.

Banks display a short "transaction descriptor" set by the merchant's payment processor, not the company's full trading name. This is why Kindle Unlimited may appear as an abbreviation or code. The descriptor is usually the company's registered payment name, which can differ from the brand name you recognise.
